Mamisoa Nomenjanahary Rakotomalala
I am Rev. Mamisoa Rakotomalala, I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Educational Ministry at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia USA (2018-2022). I have my Masters in Theology from the Faculty of Theology of Ambatonakanga in Antananarivo, Madagascar. I was born and raised in Madagascar’s capital city, Antananarivo. I am married and we have four children
From October 2014 to August 2018, I was the senior pastor for the 14 congregations Tanandava Parish of the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM), located nearly 200 miles north of Antananarivo. During these 4 years, with the support of local committee, together we established a successful program of women empowerment and overcame the initial stigma men had imposed for being a woman preacher.
Upon completion of the Doctor of Educational Ministry, my goals are to help confront challenges of leadership and education in FJKM; work toward fulfilling own priorities which fit FJKM Theological Education Committee’s priorities: (1)- to recruit, select and educate larger numbers of ordained ministers and lay leaders; and (2) to develop and/or expand current and new seminaries and to acquire additional faculty at the doctoral level; develop curriculum and provide resources and materials for FJKM Christian education.
